Dimapur, Nov. 30 (EMN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) of 8th Western Angami AC, in a consultative meeting held on Wednesday at the party’s central office, resolved to elect a regional candidate in the next election as the constituency being the stronghold of the regional party.
Media Cell of NPF 8th Western Angami AC, in an update, informed that the meeting also reaffirmed to uphold the party principles and support the leadership of its party president, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, and Legislature leader, Kuzholuzo Nienu.
While expressing strong reservation over the defection of 8th Western Angami AC MLA, Keneizhakho Nakhro, who was “trusted and elected from the party ticket,” the meeting asserted that the NPF office bearers of the constituency seat are united and intact.
The house also condemned the alleged forged signature of the “NPF party workers into the NDPP office bearers’ list.” The meeting also reaffirmed that the party unit is fully prepared for the next general election, if election is held.
During the meeting, the AC president, Makole Suosahie, in his presidential address, pointed out that the regional NPF was founded from 8th Western Angami AC by Late A Kevichüsa. Suosahie asserted that the constituency needs a stable regional leader in the coming days.
He also lamented that MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro had defected to NDPP without any knowledge or consent of the party workers and further stated that Nakhro had no authority to dissolve the AC office bearers.
NPF central general secretary, Goneiu Sirie, said the NPF party is not a one-man army party but is based on principles and ideologies and that the party belongs to the Naga people.
Sirie also said the constituency is considered as a regional bastion and that “the Naga people look upon us as a regional AC, however, we elect the present MLA from the party ticket but he defected to other political party.”
Working president of the NPF Kohima division, Vira Lhousa, who also spoke on the occasion, appreciated the spirit of regionalism in Western Angami AC and expressed optimism that the NPF would form the next government.
The programme was chaired by 8th Western Angami AC working president, Menuovilie Suohu, while the general secretary, Ruopfüzhalie Zhünyü, invoked God’s blessing and the vice president, Ruokuopielie Rutsa, delivered welcome address.
