DIMAPUR, AUGUST 7: To discuss and interact on the subject of “The Future” with special concern for the youth, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has decided to undertake tour from August 16 to 20. The first leg of the tour would cover Kiphire, Shamatore, Tuensang and Mokockchung districts where the members would attend the Fresher’s Day celebration of the Nagaland University in Lumami.
In a press NPCC president, K Therie, alleged that the culture of bribe, corruption and extortion have come to live in the government system. He said there are no economic visions either to build resource or create job opportunities.
Accusing the State government of terribly failing in fiscal management, Therie said despite enhancement in non-plan allocation by 14 Finance Commission, the government was unable to pay salaries in time.
“The future of Nagaland is our collective destiny. The Constitution guarantees every citizen’s participation in the process of election to form democratic government. It is shameful to admit but the truth is that bribe decides the election and not the conscious votes. We have identified that our people fear money more than God and the decaying future,” Therie claimed.
Stating that NPCC had laid down roadmap indicating the future it believed, Therie said the Congress party wanted to interact with people and know their opinions/minds for a true spirited democratic government.
Further stating that people’s participation with full knowledge for the future has become more important in the upcoming elections, he has invited all concerned to participate in the interaction meetings.
