Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today said the damage control exercise of the NPF spokesman wherein he said the statement of NPF legislators at Peren were quoted out of context since it was spoken in Nagamese was silly and absurd as the same was issued by their party Press and Media Bureau and not by press reporter/ correspondent.
NPCC Media Cell reminded both CMO and the NPF that people are not fools as they believe to be saying the statement of NPF legislators at Peren was issued by their own press & media bureau and not by some press reporter/ correspondent.
On the chief minister Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu official invitation to both JCC and NTAC for free and frank dialogue, it said the NPF party spokesman slamming the civil societies to the extent of calling them violent and uncivilised further exposed the fault lines within NPF and substantiated the presence of dual power centres functioning in their own way.On the question of dual chief minister in the State, NPCC said it was the NPF legislators who thanked Dr. Shurhozelie for magnanimously parting with most of his powers to TR Zeliang. NPCC said it implied that Dr. Shurhozelie as chief minister has totally abdicated his responsibility which is unbecoming for a person of his stature.
NPCC also alleged that the insatiable greed and ambition of the NPF has landed the State in a whole mess. It said citing lack of funds, State government employees especially teachers under various categories were not paid salary for months and State infrastructure particularly the road conditions resembles that of river bed, while NPF has enough funds to venture beyond State borders for political expansion.
“Unless the Government of India is giving special package for political expansion or NPF leaders contributing from their ‘supposed inherited wealth,’ they will be answerable to the people of Nagaland,” NPCC said.
