DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) and the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Nagaland state unit, have expressed gratitude to the central party leadership for alloting the INC ticket for the Nagaland Lok Sabha constituency in the ensuing 2024 general elections to NPCC president S Supongmeren Jamir.
In a press release, the NPCC said that the entire Congress family in Nagaland is resolute and unanimous in favour of this decision and would leave no stone unturned to ensure that his candidature gets the campaign of the most persuasive kind.
The party further congratulated Supongmeren Jamir, not just for the “well deserved recognition of his exceptional leadership but also for rising to the occasion and accepting the challenge in true fashion of a leader who leads from the front.”
In a separate press release, the NSUI, Nagaland state unit, also conveyed appreciation to the Congress central election committee led by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for allotting party ticket to S Supongmeren Jamir.
“Ever since assuming the office, the party has undergone major transformation and has grown by leaps and bounds under his leadership. Despite the severe electoral defeat in the previous election, the last few months have seen an influx of countless prominent people joining the Congress party in Nagaland. This is a testament of the ground work carried out y the PCC president,” the NSUI unit said.
“We will work wholeheartedly and ensure the victory of the Congress party in Nagaland,” it added.
