NPAW reaches out to suffering Nagas in Myanmar

Dimapur, Nov. 8 (EMN): Naga Political Analysis Wing (NPAW)- a social networking sites of WhatsApp/ Facebook forum comprising of Naga intellectuals and public leaders from different walk of life in collaboration with Nagalim Times and Southern Nagalim Facebook Forum, has handed over Rs 1,10,000 to the famine stricken Nagas in Myanmar,

NPAW handed over relief to the representatives of Naga Yoya, the apex Naga body in Myanmar, which undertook an “Outreach Mission” for the civilian victims of famine stricken Nagas in Myanmar. The Outreach Mission delegates included Panii Peter (social activist), Longeryanger Imchen (citizen journalist), Naogang Tangshang (Spring of Hope Ministry), and C Atsaba Sangtam (president Newspaper Association of India Nagaland State).

The NPAW Outreach Mission team began its journey from Kohima on November 1. The team interacted with some of the representatives of Naga Yoya, wherein the latter highlighted untold problems faced by the Nagas in Myanmar.

The team press release stated that the ‘Outreach Mission’ was undertaken in true spirit of oneness and unity and to promote peace and friendly relationship amongst the Nagas irrespective of artificial boundaries. The amount donated to the civilian victims was contributed from the NPAW WhatsApp/ Facebook Forum and Nagalim Times and Southern Nagalim Facebook Forum and other church associations.

It mentioned that more than 100 Naga villages in Myanmar were affected with the outbreak of famine last year and the victims are still struggling to rebuild their lives. In this regard, NPAW has appealed to the Government of India and Government of Myanmar to give attention for economic development in the region.
