Wokha, May 25 (EMN):  Advisor for Justice and Law department Dr. Chumben Murry on Wednesday stated that the recent political merger was done constitutionally and there was nothing wrong with it. He said that it is an electoral necessity, and to strengthen the leadership of Neiphiu Rio for good governance while honoring the Naga political solution.

Dr. Chumben Murry, who is the MLA of 38 Assembly Constituency, was speaking at a felicitation programme organised by the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Wokha region at Wokha District VCCA and VDB hall.

Murry said that he will work with the party principle and ideology and assured to strengthen the party for various developments in the state.

He also mentioned that it is ‘more like a homecoming’, since he was an active member in the first DPP formation (now known as NDPP).  He added that the NDPP constitution has the ‘most refined political ideology’.

He also said that ‘nepotism has tremendously gone down while VIP culture has been removed’.

‘There is more development and progress in the state within the four years of the NDPP lead government in the state’, he said.

Meanwhile, he thanked the chief minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio for giving him the assignment of Law and Justice in the state.

Mhathung Yanthan, speaking during the felicitation programme, thanked the 21 legislators who recently joined the NDPP. He said that with the coming of dynamic leaders to the party, there will be a shift in Naga political and social progress. He also welcomed the advisor to the party stating that the coming of Murry will strengthen and give more power to the party, particularly in the district.

He informed that NDPP is the only refined political party for Nagaland, stating that NDPP leaders are refined and seasoned in the political field and understand the goodness of Naga society. He called all party workers to set a strong foundation and dedicate themselves to NDPP while reminding everyone to work together as a family.

TL Merry, Vice president NDPP, CEB and convenor of  reorganisation committee Wokha region, in a short speech said that NDPP works for the grassroots level. He said that the joining of Dr. Chumben Murry to the family of NDPP will lead them to achieve greater heights for the people, party and more development.

During the programme, short speeches were delivered by YM Humtsoe, Vice president CEB, NDPP, Renpomo Kikon general secretary CEB NDPP, Lily Kikon President Wokha district Women organisation NDPP.

John Ezung, president NDPP Wokha region in his presidential note welcomed Dr. Chumben Murry, while he assured to work stiffly for the party development and interest.

During the programme, it was declared that NDPP Wokha region warmly welcomed Dr. Chumben Murry in particular erstwhile NPF party of 38 Wokha AC, reposing the faith upon the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio and president NDPP Chingwang Konyak for merging with the NDPP to strengthen their leadership; all ranks and file of NDPP Wokha region also welcomed the party workers/ leaders and well wishers who resigned/ gave up their membership and support with their erstwhile NPF party and joined the NDPP through proper channel and affirmed to work together with absolute cohesion.
