Nothing Phone 2: Release date, specifications and more revealed
Carl Pei’s company, Nothing, is preparing to release its second flagship smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2.
The company announced on its website that the global launch event for the smartphone is scheduled for July 11 at 8:30 PM IST. Additionally, people who are interested can watch the event live by tuning in to nothing.tech.
In an official statement, Manu Sharma, VP and GM of Nothing India said, “Nothing smartphones are known for their iconic transparent design. These designs require hi-tech manufacturing processes and precision engineering which have led to the enhancement of smartphone manufacturing capabilities in India. Our drive to manufacture in India reflects our commitment towards the local consumers and their demands. We are proud to announce that Phone (2) will be manufactured in India.”

To generate hype, Nothing has been employing a similar marketing strategy to that of Carl Pei’s former venture, OnePlus. The company is gradually revealing select specifications of the Nothing Phone 2.
In addition to disclosing the official launch date, Nothing has recently divulged further details about the upcoming device. Specifically, Nothing has shared a glimpse of the Phone 2’s back panel via a tweet. Notably, this panel showcases the familiar Glyph Interface concept from the Phone 1 but with some design tweaks.
The upcoming Nothing Phone 2 boasts upgraded specifications, including a larger 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a high refresh rate of 120Hz and a big 4,700mAh battery. It is also expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

Moreover, the phone will feature a reduced carbon footprint, minimal plastic packaging and undergo production in India. The device will be shipped with the latest Nothing OS 2.0 based on Android 13. Carl Pei has also confirmed that the device will get 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security patches.
Anticipated features of the Nothing Phone 2 also include a 50MP triple camera setup equipped with optical image stabilisation (OIS), and dual stereo speakers. While the pricing remains uncertain, it is expected to be under INR 40,000.
