Kohima, Jan. 25 (EMN): A three-day-long 28
th sports meet of Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) group C hosted by Tsiesema Village Sports Association concluded at Tsiesema village ground on Jan. 24.
Meriema emerged as the champions of men’s football after defeating Chuziema by a solitary goal. The lone and winning goal came through the boots of Kevizakie Ciesotsu.
In the individual awards for football, Kethosilie Zatsu of Chüziema was adjusted as the best midfielder, Neilabeio Shüya (Meriema) as the best defender, best goalkeeper- Ruokuoselhou Khro (Tsiesema basa)and Menguzelie Rutsa (Chüziema) the highest scorer.
In men’s volleyball, Nerhema took the title as they defeated Tsiesema in direct sets. Tsiesema Basa defeated Zhadima by 3-1 sets to win the women’s volleyball.
Nine villages under NASA – C (Tsiesema, Chüziema, Meriema, Tsiese Basa, Zhadima, Nerhema, Nerhe Model, Viphoma and Phekerkriema) took part in the three-day long sports meet.
Ruokuotuolie Mere, chairman Tsiesema Village Council was the guest of honour during the valedictory function and also gave away the awards to the winning teams.
