‘NorthEast United FC is my home’ Tondonba Singh on contract extension

KOHIMA — Tondonba Singh has signed a contract extension with NorthEast United FC, keeping him at the club until 2027. The announcement was made on June 2.

“Since joining the club in 2021, he has featured for the club on more than 30 occasions, consistently delivering strong performances and proving himself as an asset to the club”, the club stated.

Regarding his contract extension, the 29-year-old left-back stated that NorthEast United FC feels like his home, and he is very comfortable at the club.

He explained that his decision to extend his contract was influenced by the improvements the club has made over the past year. He expressed his belief that the club is heading in the right direction and his excitement to be part of this journey.

Head coach Juan Pedro Benali expressed enthusiasm for the contract extension, highlighting that Singh is one of the most hard-working players at the club. He lauded Singh’s professionalism both on and off the field, noting that his dedication and commitment make him a valuable teammate and a leader in the dressing room.

CEO Mandar Tamhane emphasised that retaining Singh until 2027 is fantastic, as he provides stability to the team. He noted that Singh’s experience and reliability are crucial, as the club aims for great things.
