Northeast to experience above normal maximum temperature; rainfall likely in Nagaland

Dimapur: Northeastern states, including Nagaland along with East and West coast, are expected to experience above normal maximum temperature by 2-4°C, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

However, it said maximum temperature is likely to be below normal to near normal over most parts of India.

The IMD stated that isolated heat wave condition is likely over parts of Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and north coastal Andhra Pradesh during some days of the week, and isolated heat wave condition likely over Konkan and Goa during one or two days of the week (April 27-May 3).

Rainfall activity is likely to be above normal over northwest, central and south Peninsular India and below normal over east and Northeast India, it said.

District-wise weather update for Nagaland state, as per the IMD, said thunderstorm and lightning are likely over Mokokchung, Longleng, Mon, Phek and Dimapur on April 28. It added that Mon, Longleng, Mokokchung, Wokha, Kohima and Dimapur districts are likely to experience thunderstorm and lightning on April 29 and the 30th. However, no rainfall activity is likely across the state on April 27.
