Northeast Frontier Railway introduces bi-weekly special train, extends service

Dimapur, June 24 (EMN): The Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway has announced a bi-weekly passenger special train between Guwahati – Jorhat Town for a period of one month, which will provide more travel options to the commuters.

An update from Chief Public Relations Officer of NF Railway informed that the special train consisting six coaches — 3 AC chair car, 1 vistadome coach and 2 generator cum luggage brake van — will have stoppages at Hojai, Lumding, Diphu, Dimapur, Furkating and Mariani stations.

The Guwahati – Jorhat Town special train (No. 05888) will start its journey from Guwahati station at 06:45 hrs. and is expected to reach Jorhat Town at 14:25, while the Jorhat Town – Guwahati special train (No. 05887) will depart from Jorhat Town at 15:30 and is expected to reach Guwahati at 23:00 hrs.

The special train will operate every Wednesday and Saturday from June 29 to July 27, it was informed. The details of stoppages and timings of these trains are available at IRCTC website and through NTES, it added.

The update went on to inform that the NF Railway has decided to extend the daily service of Bongaigaon – Guwahati passenger special train (05801/05802) up to Jagiroad on an experimental basis for one month, from July 4 to August 2.

Train No. 05801 (New Bongaigaon – Jagiroad special) will depart from New Bongaigaon at 04:50 hrs. and is expected to reach Jagiroad at 12:00 hrs., while the return journey train No. 05802 (Jagiroad – New Bongaigaon Special) will depart from Jagiroad at 14:55 hrs. and is expected to reach New Bongaigaon at 22:15 hrs.

“In addition to its stoppages from New Bongaigaon to Guwahati, the special train will have stoppages at Narangi, Panikhaiti, Thakurkuchi, Panbari, Digaru, Tetelia, Kamrup Khetri and Barahu in its both way journey. Timings and stoppages between New Bongaigaon and Guwahati will remain unchanged,” read the update.
