Our Correspondent IMPHAL,January 27 Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam on Tuesday flagged off the North East tour of Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) from Haipou Jadanong Park near Keisampat in Imphal. The ZYF(Assam, Nagaland and Manipur) sponsored the North East tour for 35 delegates will cover the states of Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram and Meghalaya to carry the message of love, unity and understanding among the Zeliangrong fraternity scattered across the north eastern state of India.Speaking to the media persons on the sideline of the function, Gaikhangam who also holds home affairs portfolio made it clear that there's was no security lapse during the Republic Day celebration held on Monday. He was making a clarification over the series of bomb explosions despite the tight security arrangement before and the during yesterday's Republic day parade in Imphal. Gaikhangam claimed that all the bomb explosion incidents in the state during and before the Republic day celebration was nothing but to make felt of their presence by the underground groups operating in the state."So far there was no report of any human casualties and most of them are triggered in out of public places,"he said., It may be mentioned here that as many as six bombs suspected to be Improvised Explosive Devices were exploded at different parts of the state on Monday amidst tight security measures in view of Republic Day celebration on January 26. Forum boycotts Lilong body : Members of Lilong Political Forum (LPF) have announced indefinite boycott to Lilong Political Unified Link (LPUL) for imposing Bandh along the National highway road (Imphal-Moreh). LPF functionaries termed the move of LPUL as "Irrational approach for widening road" while speaking to media in a press meet held at Manipur Press Club in Imphal. The Forum leaders also remonstrated that LPUL have not given any deliberation and console the victims since the aftermath of the event that have brought casualties. Addressing the news persons, Advisor of the Lilong Political Forum, Dr Abdul Salam accused that LPUL have made a closed-door negotiation with the state government on the issue.It further demands to make the resolutions open to public. The Forum further asked the LPUL that what solution has made for those innocent victims. The Advisor of LPF further accused that the recent indefinite bandh along Lilong sector was imposed by some vested interest persons against the public interest as it directly targets MLA Md Abdul Nasir. Denouncing the act of LPUL, convenor Md Farid Khad of LPF said that the severity of the indefinite Bandh was so extreme that the Bandh callers did not allow movement of any including emergencies. Mention may be made here that a 13-year-old school student lost his life and four others were injured at Lilong Kalekhong area on Friday in police action while controlling the situation arising out of an indefinite bandh along Imphal-Moreh road by LPUL demanding the expansion of National Highway from Lilong to Waithou junction.The functionaries of LPUL could not be contacted for their comment till the report goes to the press.
