North-East India mixed martial arts association formed

EMN DIMAPUR, AUGUST 10 The Mizoram State Mixed Martial Arts Association (MISMA) had successfully conducted the first ever MMA seminar-cum-training from August 6th-8th sanctioned by the All India Mixed Martial Arts Association (AIMMAA) for all MMA organizations and officials of the North-East region. Participants and officials representing the respective North Eastern states including Nagaland, were guaranteed recognition certificates from the All India Mixed Martial Arts Association (AIMMAA). The 3-day seminar held in Aizawl, the state capital of Mizoram, conducted an official and Instructor Training Course was led by its Technical Director Samuel Lalrozama, who is one of the prominent international MMA Referees and had represented India on numerous occasions, intensive drills were conducted that included Muay Thai, MMA conditioning, Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) and MMA techniques.. Four officials representing the All Nagaland Mixed Martial Arts Association (ANMMAA), an affiliated body to the All India Mixed Martial Arts Association (AIMMAA), attended the seminar held in Aizawl. The Nagaland team consisted of P. Chettei Khiam (State Chief Instructor ANMMAA), Sunil Khakalary (Senior Instructor), Vire Nukhu (Asst. Gen. Secy. ANMMAA) and H. Samuel Konyak (Senior Member). On August 7, an officials seminar including all participants was held where the obstacles faced by the MMA organisations of north eastern states was discussed at length in order to help promote MMA sport and MMA professionals in the region. The seminar was followed by a meeting and formation of the first ever North East Mixed Martial Arts Association (NEMA). Samuel Lalrozama Hmar was elected as the Commissioner. Dr. Joel Lalnghakliana Pautu of Mizoram was elected as President, followed by, Biswajit Sarkar from Assam as Sr. Vice President, Isaiah Kharma of Meghalaya and Vire Nukhu of Nagaland as Vice Presidents, Lalthakima of Mizoram as Secretary, and Lalchhuanmawia Hnamte as Treasurer, also from Mizoram. The seminar ended with a press conference on August 8, comprising the elected officials of the newly formed North East Mixed Martial Arts Association (NEMA) where the officials expressed their opinions that would benefit the association(NEMA) followed by a Farewell meal.
