DIMAPUR — The North East Sports Association has announced the schedule and venues for the North East Games 2024, which will take place in Nagaland from March 18 to 23. It will begin with an opening ceremony on March 18 at 7 pm at the Games Village, Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence in Chümoukedima.
According to a press release, athletes and spectators can look forward to witnessing competitions across various sports disciplines at the following venues:
Archery: March 19 - 23 at 1st NAP Ground, Chümoukedima
Athletics: March 19 - 23 at IG Stadium, Kohima
Badminton: March 19 - 22 at Tetso College, Sovima
Basketball: March 19 - 23 at Tetso College, Sovima
Boxing: March 19 - 23 at Archery Complex, Sovima
Football: March 19 - 23 at NAPTC, Chümoukedima
Lawn Tennis: March 19 - 23 at Tennis Complex, Kuda Village
Pencak Silat: March 19 - 21 at Futsal B, Sovima
SepakTakraw: March 19 - 21 at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima
Table Tennis: March 19 - 21 at Multidiscipline Sports Complex, Sovima
Taekwondo: March 21 - 23 at Futsal A, Sovima
Volleyball: March 19 - 22 at Shooting Complex, Sovima
Belt Wrestling: March 23 at Multidiscipline Sports Complex, Sovima
Wrestling: March 22 at Multidiscipline Sports Complex, Sovima
Wushu: March 19 - 20 at Futsal A, Sovima
The games will conclude with a closing function on March 23 at 7 pm, at the Games Village, where athletes will be honoured for their performances and commitment to the spirit of fair play.

Meanwhile, in the lead-up to the NE Games 2024, hosting venues will be conducting practice sessions, rehearsals, and sound checks for the various events, including the opening and closing ceremonies.
There will also be cultural performances and featured shows every evening during the entire duration of the games, as mentioned in an update.
Therefore, the NOA has requested that citizens of the hosting areas and surrounding places kindly bear with the sound of the practice sessions and performances.
"On the part of the organisers, all attempts will be made to ensure that the performances during the games do not go beyond the stipulated time, and efforts will be made to keep the disturbances to a minimum,” it stated.
While appreciating all sections for their positive support and solidarity, the NOA appealed to all well-wishers and citizens of the state to continue extending their cooperation and support for the overall success of the games.
