Normal traffic resumes on damaged bridge in Manipur

IMPHAL — Normal traffic resumed on Friday along the Imphal-Mao sector of the National Highway (NH)-2 in Manipur after a blast on a bridge located between Koubru Leikha and Sapermeina in Kangpokpi district affected movement of heavy vehicles.

No individual or organisation has claimed responsibility for the incident which took place in the early hours of Wednesday.

There was no report of casualty but the explosion created three craters, forcing the district authority to restrict the movement of “all kind of heavy vehicular traffic on the minor bridge in Sapermeina”.

However, unladen and light vehicles were allowed to ply.
