Noklak to penalise those not wearing face mask

Dimapur, Sep. 12 (EMN): Noklak district has decided to strictly implement wearing of face mask, particularly in the town areas, and also to impose fine against the defaulters. In this regard, it has directed the assistant public relations officer, Noklak, to make mass announcement for public awareness.

The decision to this effect was taken during the meeting of the Noklak district task force on Covid-19 held on September 11 at the deputy commissioner’s office, Noklak, under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner of Noklak, Reny Wilfred.

The house also discussed on the implementation of the revised standard operating procedure (SOP) and affirmed to follow all the guidelines in the district.

Speaking at the meeting, the superintendent of police, Noklak, Dr. Pritpal Kaur Batra, raised concern on the disposal of used face mask and other protective kits. In this connection, the Noklak town council has been entrusted to bring out a relevant order for containing such menace.

Various other issues like Covid-19 check-gate, control room, loading and unloading of essential commodities and issues relating to the SOPs to be followed and follow-up activities to be taken up, were also discussed.

Meanwhile, a separate meeting on developmental activities for the newly created Noklak district was also held on September 11 at the DC’s office under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner.

The house discussed on career guidance, skill development, agricultural sector, tourism and handicraft apart from others areas which are necessary for the people of the district. The DC stated that all the developmental activities and functioning would be tied up with separate agencies in order to have proper dissemination of information to the beneficiaries and to encourage local entrepreneurs.

The meeting was attended by SP, representatives from the Assam Rifles, NAP, VGs, Khiamniungan Tribal Council, Khiamniungan Menyiu Hoilkam, Khiamniungan Students’ Union, NGOs, youth volunteers and administrative officers.
