Noklak receives medical equipment and ambulance

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): Medical equipment and consumables worth INR 50 lakhs donated by EKAM for District Hospital Noklak was handed over to medical minister, S Pangnyu Phom, on October 22 in his office chambers in the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima.

The minister also received an ambulance equipped with the latest medical technology, donated by Santhi Medical Information Centre, on behalf of the department. The ambulance would act as a mobile medical unit for Noklak, a DIPR report stated on Friday.

Addressing the programme, Phom thanked both EKAM and Santhi Medical Information Centre for their generous contribution towards the people of Nagaland in particular and Noklak in general. He appreciated the joint secretary of Home, Reny Wilfred, for taking the effort in connecting the NGOs with the state of Nagaland.

He further sought the support of the people in keeping and making proper use of the medical equipment.

Others who spoke at the programme included advisor of Printing and Stationary H Haiying, advisor of Economics and Statistics L Khumo, DC of Noklak Hiazu Meru, joint secretary of Home Reny Wilfred, and representatives from medical department and the two NGOs.
