Noklak organises ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ programme

DIMAPUR — As part of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, a special programme was held at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Noklak, on August 19, which featured several significant activities.

During the ceremony, the deputy commissioner of Noklak, Arikumba, hoisted the national flag and led the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ pledge which included commitments to contribute to India’s development, eradicate slave mindset, preserve India’s rich culture and traditions, work for national unity and integrity, fulfill civic duties, honour defenders of the nation and strive to realise the dream of a developed India by 2047.

A DIPR report stated that the deputy commissioner also unveiled a memorial plaque (Silaphalakham) bearing the inscription, “Dedicating every minute of our life and every ounce of our energy for our motherland is the true tribute to our freedom fighters.”

The programme included singing of the national anthem by students of Holy Angels School, Noklak, followed with a tree-planting ceremony led by the deputy commissioner and other dignitaries.

The event drew the participation of various departmental officials, teachers and students from different schools, local leaders, and representatives from civil society organisations.

The event was organised by Noklak district administration and Noklak town council.
