Dimapur, May 26 (EMN): Noklak sub-division branch of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and Community Health Centre (CHC) Noklak have jointly organised a health camp in Choklangan village bordering Myanmar on May 14.
The branch honorary secretary, W Lachu Lam stated that 146 patients were treated and medicines were distributed free of cost. The health camp was led by Thsuvisie Phoji, ADC and chairman of IRCS Noklak sub-division branch, Seyiekhrietuo Solo, EAC Pathso, and Dr. Victor, SMO, and staff of CHC Noklak and Sedem, VCC.
Officials from IRCS Noklak, Khiamniungan Tribal Council, and Longdon Baptist Church also visit the relief camp at Chiu village whose houses were destroyed in a devastating fire on May 16. The release stated that 24 houses were burnt on May 6. The team had donated utensils, blankets, clothes and food items to the affected families.
Meanwhile, IRCS Noklak sub-division branch has also observed World Red Cross Day at GHSS Noklak on May 8 on the theme “Everywhere for everyone, smile.” The programme was chaired by its branch honorary secretary Lachu Lam, wherein he had highlighted the activities of the Red Cross Society.
The guest speaker Thsuvisie Phoji, ADC and chairman of IRCS Noklak sub-division branch, spoke on the theme and advised the students to take initiative on humanitarian and charity works.
