Dimapur, Jan. 20 (EMN): Noklak district launched the Covid-19 vaccination drive at CHC Noklak on January 20, coinciding with the inauguration of the district.

The vaccination drive was launched by Dr. I Moatemjen Jamir, CMO Tuensang. According to an update, Jamir encouraged the staff to ‘receive the vaccine without fear’.

“We all have been praying for the cure and solution for the Covid-19 pandemic. This vaccine is an answer to our prayers as God has given the knowledge and wisdom to the scientists to discover the vaccine within a short period of time,” he said.

He shared that the Covid-19 vaccine (Covishield) may have ‘mild reactions following immunisation’ but so far, ‘no one has experienced severe reactions in the district’.

Jamir has appealed to the church to create awareness regarding the vaccine among the congregation to clear doubts and false rumours about the vaccine on social media.

A total of 37 medical staff of CHC Noklak received the first dose of vaccine, wherein Thongpang, a medical attendant, was the first person to receive the jab.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Victor SMO, CHC Noklak while A Penglang, pastor of LBCNT invoked God’s blessings, it added.
