[dropcap]D[/dropcap]o the word ‘Authoritarian’ shock us? Well, political correctness aside, there is atleast one unique quality of the madman Hitler that is followed by leaders of some of the most successful governments and corporations across the globe – an authoritarian leadership style – a quality that has been a significant reason in ensuring that such corporations and governments are viewed as being amongst the leading governments and business units of this world. This we feel is because while leadership styles which are more democratic are wonderful to read and be applied, such styles can be successful only when the people we are leading are more mature, responsible and ambitious. And despite what one may wish or imagine if I am to speak my mind, finding such people to work with is near impossible. If someone believe that I have tumbled over the edge and am referring back to the days when coal mining used to be the key industry where authority used to be ruthlessly applied as in the early days of industrialization – well, it almost is so.
The only difference is that technology has made, for the good, autocratic leadership look very savvy. The best of governments and corporations today have the same lack of trust in their employees sincerity levels as they used to have many moons back in the coal mines. But today they never really exhibit it vocally. Instead we have automatic processes which leaves no option for an employee to work as per his or her personal preferences. Whether one likes it or not, phone calls are thrown at them by the automatic software, one’s bathroom breaks are timed, one’s precise location during office hours is timed through GPS and more. Be it manufacturing or services, employees are not given a choice in any great bodies anymore. This is because true leaders and super achievers have realized that given a choice, most employees are underproductive. And as such technology is used today to force them to deliver. As I see it, real and true leadership today is done unhindered through the use of more and more ruthless technologies, and the most successful leaders use their style of leadership without guilt and to achieve the best of results with the majority of the people but intelligently spare those few who work with passion and without the need to be ordered.
Going completely off track, let us share a little about Egyptians, Jews and again a little bit of Adolf Hitler. We fail our part if we fail to decipher the Biblical truths. Just as too many cooks spoils the broth, too little knowledge too is very dangerous especially of those voices which the masses feeds upon. One can get away with murder in the physical sense but not when it is with the soul.
In a language which everybody understands we see that the Jews as we all know were the slaves of the Egyptians. It was the Jews who through their hard labour built the Sphinxes and the pyramids but history only remembers their Egyptian masters. Even the Egyptians catchword, or for not finding a better word, ordered the laboring Jewish slaves ‘work and eat’ and ofcourse gave them a bowl of crude cereals which anyway was thankfully relished to stay alive. Coming closer lets look at our Nazi Hitler. OK, he was bad. But the Nazi’s too fed their Jewish prisoners with what-so-ever, but the Jews were kept alive.
When at this age and time if one fails to take lessons from the past, faith hope and trust flies out of the window. We all have heard the saying that ‘life is but taking one day at a time’ and again we all know that it is very much applicable in democratic politics as well. We all again also knows that politics is not an orthodox church seminary where nuns, brothers and fathers give their all, only looking for their rewards in Heaven in order to serve the Lord. I am 100% positive when I say that there is a tiny kernel of truth in what I am saying.
