Diphu, June 12 (EMN): Karbi Anglong Sand Suppliers’ Association has announced indefinite bandh on sand supply to Nagaland.
Addressing a press conference on Friday, the association’s president, Sukursing Kro, said that the bandh will come into effect from 5 pm, June 13.
He cited illegal tax collections by Forest Department, police and others, as the reason.
Kro alleged they have to pay INR 200-300 daily per truck at different check posts to Forest and Police officials in addition to the INR 2500-3000 they have to pay monthly to the same officials. It has urged the authorities concerned to intervene in the matter.
