Additional Deputy Commissioner Longleng, Alongdhimen Jamir, has declared a no parking zone for commercial vehicles to ease congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow in Longleng town.

DIMAPUR — Additional Deputy Commissioner Longleng, Alongdhimen Jamir, has notified the regulation of commercial vehicle parking and the enforcement of designated parking zones at Longleng town with immediate effect.
In the circular, it was stated that the stretch from Tuensang Junction towards Aboi road is declared a "no parking zone" for all commercial vehicles, with immediate effect.
A DIPR report stated that this regulation has been necessitated due to recurring congestion and public inconvenience caused by indiscriminate parking in the said area.

Further, all Tata Sumo/taxis and other passenger vehicles operating from neighbouring villages are strictly directed not to park at random or unauthorised spots within and around Longleng town, noting that such practices have been observed to create traffic bottlenecks and safety hazards.
All commercial vehicles, including pickups, 407/409 trucks, and Tata Sumos, have been directed to use the designated parking areas as identified below: New Medical Site, Longleng–Changtongya road, and at Naga Junction, Tuensang road.
It was mentioned that failure to comply with the directive shall attract penalty action under Section 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
