No new Covid-19 cases detected in Nagaland; tally stands at 12365

Dimapur, April 6 (EMN): Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally remained unchanged at 12365 with no positive cases recorded on Tuesday.

The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, informed through an update that no new Covid-19 cases were detected in the last 24 hours, while two positive patients recovered in Dimapur.

According to the information provided by the Health department, the state currently has 134 asymptomatic cases, 11982 recoveries and 91 deaths, out of which 10 have been ruled “not Covid- related”.

In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Kohima has 123 asymptomatic cases, Dimapur- 9 and Tuensang-2, while the remaining districts are Covid-free.

Surge continues in India

A total of 96,982 new Covid-19 cases were registered in Indian in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s caseload 7,88,223 and confirmed tally to 12,686,049 (about 1.20 crore).

An update from Union Health Ministry informed that eight states — Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat – accounted for 80.04% of new cases.

Maharashtra recorded the highest daily new cases at 47,288, followed by Chhattisgarh with 7,302 and Karnataka at 5,279.

As many as 50,143 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 1,17,32,279 so far at 92.48% recovery rate.

The number of deaths too has climbed to 1,65,547 with 446 people succumbing to the disease.
