Service Employees Forum at the executive meeting at the Cimorb Hotel in Kohima
on Saturday.
- DIMAPUR — An executive meeting was organised
by the Nagaland National Pension System Government Service Employees Forum
(NNPSGSEF) on Saturday at the Cimorb Hotel, Kohima.
- The meeting was attended by the presidents of all the
district units and chaired by Imnasenla Pongener, general secretary.
- Moanungsang Jamir, president, speaking on the occasion,
stated that the forum’s fight cannot be fought by the central team alone but
with the cooperation of all National Pension System (NPS) subscribers led by
the district presidents.
- Avizo Nienu, spokesperson, presented figures regarding the
investment and returns of the pension schemes – NPS, Unified Pension Scheme
(UPS), and Old Pension Scheme (OPS). He raised the issue of the lack of
participation, accountability, and ownership by many NPS subscribers towards
the forum’s cause, which is for the benefit of all.
- He reiterated that this fight is not just for a few but for
all employees currently covered under NPS and also for future employees. He
asserted that the forum’s protest and demands are based on two grounds: to
provide 50% of the last drawn salary as pension and to return the total money
contributed towards NPS to the employees in full.
