DIMAPUR — On the issue pertaining to World AIDS Day celebration, the Network of Naga people Living with HIV/AIDS (NNP+) stated that it had already planned the programme with the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) at the state-level as well as held a coordination meeting with DAPCU.

It, however, stated that during its meeting with the district level network (DLN), majority of them decided to organise the programme independently as they wanted to take the ownership of their own programme. It, therefore, stated that NNP+ was compelled to withdraw from the state as well as district-level programme organised by NSACS.

It claimed that the press release was given with the consensus of the DLNs present during the virtual meeting and all the DLNs were also informed regarding the issues.

District networks present during the state coordination meeting were Zuneheboto, Mokokchung, Wokha, Phek, Peren and Dimapur out of the nine existing DLNs since some of them have already planned to organise the programme with DAPCU.

DLNs members are requested to contact the president of their respective districts regarding any confusion or clarification about the press release since NNP+ was only entrusted to give the press release on behalf of the DLNs, it said, adding that the Noklak DLN couldn’t be featured as it’s in the process of organising and structuring.

This rejoinder issued was issued by Lucy, president of Dimapur, and Wapang, president of Mokokchung on behalf of the DLNs, said that it was ito put the matter in the right perspective amid confusion and distorted campaign launched to tarnish its image by a few vested interest ‘ghost writers’.
