NNF members told to strive for social uniformity

Dimapur, Sep. 24 (EMN): In contrast to the popular perception on the prevalence of gender equality in the Naga society, the advisor of Nagaland NGOs Forum (NNF), Kughalu Mulatonu Yeptho, viewed that there is disparity between men and women, while he also called upon the members to aim for small changes and bring social uniformity.
Mulatonu stated this during the dedication programme of the working office of NNF at Purana Bazaar in Dimapur on Saturday. He stated that Nagaland is divided politically, internally and externally where every political party has their own agenda. He added that not a single political party can have dominance over the society as Nagas are a classified society with each tribe speaking multiple languages.
In this context, he urged the NNF members to strive for uniformity with one vision and not aim for big things or great things but to aim for small changes and bring social uniformity.
He suggested that the forum should do something to find a common ground and make a breakthrough for the younger generations to come. He added that NFF should put efforts together and do something for the society.
Povotso Lohe, president of NNF, shared that the forum is for all the NGOs registered with Nagaland government through home department.
“Our activities will reach to all he corners of the state. Our aim is to safeguard the rights and privileges of all the NGOs in Nagaland,” he said.
The dedicatory prayer was said by Rev. Vikheshe Chishi, while the vote of thanks was delivered by NNF vice president, Vikali A Zhimomi.
