DIMAPUR — The Naga National Council (NNC) under the leadership of its president, Gen. (Retd) Thinoselie M Keyho, has expressed the inability of Naga national workers under NNC/FGN to attend the proposed programme organised by Naga Shisha Hoho (NSH) and Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) at Kütsapo village from February 16 to the 18.
In a letter to the organising committee, Gen. (retired) TM Keyho has attributed its inability to establish the purpose for abstaining from the event.
“You may note that the NNC is the only Naga political institution and FGN is its legitimate Naga national government. So it can never be projected as a political group like the other political groups which you are inviting to the meeting.
“Further, it cannot be established as to whether the meeting is organised to unite our people to uphold 1951 plebiscite and defend Naga sovereignty or to unite our people to accept a solution under the constitution of India,” the statement read.
He expressed confident that the organisers would those facts and appreciate its stand.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has resolved to steadfastly support and work under the leadership of NNC president, Gen. (retired) TM Keyho, and the FGN Kedahge, K Vadeo, to accomplish the national goal of freedom.
The resolution to this effect was taken during the 68th tatar hoho of FGN at its oking in Kohina on February 7. An update from the deputy speaker of FGN tatar hoho, Haikiam, stated that the motion on the vote of thanks was moved and seconded by members of the house and voted for its acceptance.
It stated that FGN Kedallo, Namrikiu, addressed the 68th tatar hoho and declared the session open. He also expressed happiness on the success of Alee missions over the past years.
Report further stated that the Budget for 2024 was unanimously passed by the house.
