DIMAPUR — The Z Royim-led Naga Nation Council-Parent Body (NNC-PB) has suspended its vice president, SS Pongkho, allegedly for illicit indulgence in financial matters, misuse of power and autocratic functioning.

A press release issued by NNC (PB) through its MIP stated that the cabinet decided to suspend its president after extensive deliberation and careful consideration and examination of his conduct in actions.

It alleged that the concerned persons declared himself as vice president-cum-finance kilonser as published in print media on April 9 and 11 and further issued receipts by changing the office pad nomenclature on his own.

NNC (PB) has accused the vice president of violating Article 2 and 3 of April 22, 2023, resolution. As contained in Yezhabo Article 37 provision article 22 and 28, the organisation has suspended him.

Accordingly, it stated that all receipt and statements and paper works issued by him would be considered invalid and not be accepted in any form.

It stated the action underscored its unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability within the government structure.

“No individual regardless of position is exempt from the standards set forth to safeguard the ideals of our movement,” the statement read.

The NNC PB reiterated its commitment to fostering a society founded on the principles of fairness, equality and adherence to the law. It, therefore, urged all citizens, officials and stakeholders to continue their support and cooperation during this period of transition as they remain dedicated to advancing the well being and prosperity of our nation.

NNC (PB) further warned any individual or group collecting any form of ‘tax or donation’ in the name of its organization. It added that such individual would be meticulously dealt with stern action.
