DIMAPUR — The NNC (Parent Body) has supported the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) and the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) in their endeavours to check and enforce the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Naga homeland.

“It is our political and social right, hence this is the correct and right stand,” NNC (PB) said.

It stated that the Naga people in general, frontal organisations and the villages must support the move as it is a democratic and inherent right from the British India Act of 1873 called “Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation.” It added that Naga people have every right to regulate, implement and exercise the provision to protect, preserve and defend its people and land.

“The transitional state government in the Naga homeland must do its part to enforce the Act without any hesitation and reservation if they are really of the people by the people and for the people. And the state must listen to the voice of the people to do its responsibility as the influx of illegal immigrants are pouring in everyday,” it added.
