NNC denies collecting tax

Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): Naga National Council (NNC), which claimed to be parent body under the leadership of vice presidents Yilow Humtsoe and Zhiongba Yimchungrü and general secretary V Nagi, made it clear that its organisation never collect tax or impose and force anybody whether public, business community and churches.

NNC (Parent body) was responding to news report pertaining to taxations by the Naga national political groups (NNPGs) as claimed by NGOs and churches. NNC (Parent body), through its information and publicity wing, stated that it had clarified its stand even in the past on the issue of taxation, which was of serious matter.

“We love our people and freedom and never believe in this taxation in the name of national workers or freedom,” the statement said.

NNC (Parent Body) has appealed to all concerned not to include its organisation with all those factions or groups together in this regard as a whole NNPGs. It has demanded to name those factions/ groups who were involved in the taxation business burdening the public and even the churches. It has further asked to pin point the culprits but not the one who stands for the people and freedom.
