Dimapur, Feb. 24 (EMN): Chakhesang regional council of the Naga National Council (NNC CRC) has elected new team of office bearers headed by Maj. (Retd.) Zhosapa Rhakho as president, Terilo Khütso as general secretary, Medowe Therie as youth president, Veducholü Dzüdo as women president and Nüchotalü Huire as women vice president.
Lt. Col. (Retd.) Savezo Tetseo, Midan Peyu of Chakhesang region and convenor of nomination committee, introduced the new office bearers during its general meeting held on February 14 held in Chokriba village, which was attended by over 2000 members.
A press release issued by Maj. (Rtd.) Zhosapa Rhakho, sessional secretary, stated that Acüyi Vadeo, NNC joint secretary, had administered the oath of allegiance to the new team. He also stated that the remaining vacant posts would be filled up at the earliest.
Meanwhile, NNC CRC resolved to uphold the Naga voluntary plebiscite of 1951 to remain independent till it achieves the ultimate goal.
The house also resolved to uphold the foundation laid by AZ Phizo and to stand by the leadership of its president Adinno Phizo.
NNC president, Adinno Phizo also spoke on the occasion. Lhouvitsü, speaker of FGN tatar hoho, and Shevohü Keyho, killo kilonser, also delivered short speeches on the occasion.
Veducholü, NNC CRC president of women organisation, delivered the vote of thanks. The meeting concluded with a benediction said by Vejuyi Rose, pastor of Thipuzumi Baptist Church.
