NLA Speaker seeks constructive ideas from officers

MOKOKCHUNG — Nagaland assembly speaker and chairman of Mokokchung district planning and development board (DPDB), Sharingain Longkumer, has called upon all the officers to work together and channelise the limited resources to develop every sector in the district.

Addressing the monthly DPDB meeting held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office in Mokokchung town on Saturday, the new chairman urged every member to come forward with constructive ideas and collectively examine all sectors where assistance and support of the board is required.

Longkumer also called upon the members to work together to channelise the limited resources in order to developing every sector in the district. He acknowledged the tremendous strides made by DPDB Mokokchung under the leadership of his predecessor, Tongpang Ozukum, a DIPR report stated.

He also asked the deputy commissioner and the planning officer to set-up a committee at their level to examine all applications received and take steps on priority to have an impact and benefit the public.

The chairman asked those departments implementing the centrally sponsored schemes to update the status and examine how the people in the district are benefited.

While lauding the Police department for curbing the menace of narcotic and other illegal substances, Longkumer asked the department to submit report on their activities and achievements. He also asked the district administration to make necessary steps to do away with all the cables and wires in and around the town square.

Report stated that the house approved the renewal of provisional recognition of Green Hill Public School in Chuchuyimlang and forwarded to the government. It added that the board approved the LADP projects for the current financial year 2024–25.
