Dimapur, June 3: Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Chotisuh Sazo, accompanied by the Deputy Speaker, Imtikumzuk, and team of officers from Nagaland Legislative Assembly attended the 15th North East Region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference in Agartala, Tripura, from May 30 to June 2.
Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan, inaugurated the conference. In the conference, various issues confronted by States in the region were discussed. Besides, the two vital topics namely (1) To strengthen the NERCPA for further development of North East Region States and (2) Soil erosion in North East India and its impact on the local populace and how political intervention could help resolve the issues were deliberated.
State speaker, Chotisuh Sazo, took active part in the discussion and suggested that NERCPA appeal to the Government of India to implement suitable policies and programmes for the development of the North Eastern States.
