NLA passes Appropriation Bill for INR 4469.22 crore

Kohima, Feb. 14 (EMN):
Nagaland Legislative Assembly on Friday passed the state Appropriation (No. 1) Bill-2020 of over INR 4000 crore, a day after Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio presented a deficit budget of INR 2358.82 crore.

On approving the demands for grants for several departments, the state government was authorised to withdraw INR 4469.22 crore out of the consolidated fund of the state for the Financial Year 2019-20.

The chief minister moved the Bill on the floor of the assembly and was passed after the House approved through voice vote.

MLA Yitachu sought clarification on the expenditure of the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, agri-link roads; and roads and bridges while referring to demands for grants of various departments.
