Nagaland Assembly session adjourned sine die
KOHIMA — Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer on Thursday adjourned the one-day ‘emergent session’ of the 14th Assembly, sine die after passing the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023.
Longkumer said that while members of the house may belong to various political affiliations, it is essential to acknowledge that this diversity unites them. He asserted that the combined efforts of the members have played a pivotal role in bringing about societal transformation.
In addition to enacting the Act, the session also saw Khruohituonuo Rio, the Secretary-in-Charge of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, announcing the Governor of Nagaland’s assent to the Nagaland Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Bill, 2023, and the Nagaland Passengers and Goods Taxation (Amendment) Bill, 2023.
Besides passing the Act, during the session, Secretary-in-Charge, Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Khruohituonuo Rio, reported the assent of the Governor of Nagaland to the Nagaland Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 and Nagaland Passengers and Goods Taxation (Amendment) Bill, 2023.
