DIMAPUR — Niuland district has approved and recommended to the concerned department for setting up of a separate office of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) with posting of project director, establishment of Treasury office, upgradation of branch post office and establishment of additional SBI branch office in Old Showuba village.
The approval and subsequent recommendation was made during its monthly district planning and development board (DPDB) meeting held on Friday in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s (DC) office. The meeting was chaired by the DC and vice chairperson of Niuland DPDB, Sara S Jamir.
A DIPR report stated that the members have reaffirmed the previous recommendation for urgent establishment of police outpost at Khaghaboto (grey area), where murder/ murder-related cases were reported almost every year.
The board also forwarded to the government for setting up 12 different departments, which are yet to be established in the district.
Meanwhile, the DC requested all the district officers to be present in station and apply for station leave in case of any emergency.
