Dimapur, July 14 (EMN): At least nine Covid-19 positive cases, including one driver who had chauffeured two ministers of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, have been confirmed at the Nagaland House, Aurangzeb Road in New Delhi.

The first case was detected when one of the staff arrived from Nagaland in June.

The public relations officer (PRO) of Nagaland House told Eastern Mirror on Tuesday that the staff was on a vacation in Nagaland. After her return to Delhi, she was placed under home isolation.

“She developed some symptoms during her quarantine and was taken to BLK hospital where she was found positive,” informed the PRO.

He informed that 44 of the Nagaland House staff were tested on July 13, out of which four returned positive.

Today (July 14), around 50-60 more staff were tested and four more were declared Covid-19 positive, taking the total number of cases to nine so far.

The PRO further informed that as per standard operating procedures, all mild positive cases will be kept under home isolation while those showing severe symptoms will be admitted to the hospital.

It was also informed that none of the staff were staying at the Nagaland House, Aurangzeb Road when the first case was detected.

“Few officials are staying at the Nagaland House, RK Puram right now where there is no threat; no occupants at Aurangzeb road,” informed the PRO.

The deputy resident commissioner (DRC) also told this newspaper that the woman patient was in the ICU at BLK hospital, but would be shifted to the ward later in the day (Tuesday).
