Nine bands to vie for Hornbill Rock Contest finale today

The Hornbill International Music Festival 2018 day 7 witnessed eight bands from across the country taking the stage to book their way through to the Hornbill International Rock Contest finale to be held on Sat. Dec. 8 at the Agri Expo in Dimapur.

The eight bands that performed on Friday to make it through to Saturday’s finale are- Existence (Bangalore), Stereotype (Kohima), Looking Glass (Pune), Highway 69 (Ranchi), Perfect Strangers (Bangalore), Since 90’s (Dimapur), Granite Yard (Sikkim), and Tripp Pilots (Thane).

The 2018 edition of the coveted Hornbill International Rock Contest will have two bands from Jharkhand and Nagaland, and one band each from Delhi, West Bengal, Sikkim and Bangalore, and Assam.

After 24 bands from across the country sought to take the Hornbill International Rock Contest 2018 title, nine bands have made it through to the finale- Moongphali (Delhi), Vikrit (Ranchi, Jharkhand), UDX (Dimapur, Nagaland), Vishnu (West Bengal), Her Illegal Practice (Sikkim), Highway 69  (Ranchi, Jharkhand) , Perfect Strangers (Bangalore), Since 90’s (Dimapur, Nagaland), and Ambush (Diphu, Assam).

The winners will walk away with a whopping INR .10 lakh cash prize, while the first and second runner-ups will bag INR 5 lakh and INR 3.5 lakh respectively.  Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will give away prizes.

LiveNow Events, under the patronage of the Nagaland government and the Music Task Force (MTF) have raised the bar of Hornbill International Music Festival 2018 by dedicating the ten-day music festival to different music genres.
