Niki Sumi-led NSCN says anti-social activities destroying Naga society; assures stern action

DIMAPUR — The Niki Sumi-led NSCN/GPRN has said that rampant rise in illegal activities, including drug trafficking, scams and duping of innocent public are destroying the Naga society.

While expressing concern over the trend, it claimed that all such anti-social elements, which are taking a toll in Nagaland, are thriving under the nose of the state police force “are also harboured by its personnel and organised groups”.      

The group said that it is committed and determined to curb such activities and will initiate stern action against anyone found involved.

“The NSCN/GPRN shall not be responsible or answerable for occurrences of any unfavourable consequences due to hindrance caused by any individual, group or occupational state police in the efforts of the NSCN/GPRN to contain anti-social elements,” read the press release.

Maintaining that it is the responsibility of every individual and organisation to stand up against anything that is destroying the society, the group said it will “not allow anti-social and illegal activities”.

It went on to say that it is ‘committed to strive in spirit and in deeds to unite the people, for long lasting peace and progress of Naga people, for finding solution to Naga political struggle’.
