Night curfew to be reinforced in Nagaland-Sivasagar border

Dimapur, May 6 (EMN): The additional district magistrate of Sivasagar, Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am along the 5 km belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland for a period of 60 days beginning May 22. According to a DIPR report on Monday, the curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent occurrence of “anti-social elements and unlawful activities in Assam/Nagaland areas bordering Sivasagar district.” Movement of any person, group of persons or vehicles during the period of night curfew has been prohibited. Exemptions have been made for magistrate, security personnel and civil officials on duty.
