Night curfew in Sivasagar bordering Nagaland

Dimapur, Dec. 20 (EMN): The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sivasagar, Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am in the 5 km belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland with effect from December 18 for a period of 60 days.

The curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent occurrence of anti-social elements and unlawful activities in the Assam/Nagaland border in the belt of Sivasagar district, read the order which was issued by the DIPR.

The movement of people and vehicles is prohibited during the night curfew period. However, magistrate, security personnel and civil officials deployed on duty are exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order, it said.
