Dimapur, May 5 (EMN): With a view to curtail transmission of the disease and control the surge in the number of persons infected by Covid-19, the deputy commissioner and DTF chairman, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, has imposed night curfew in Kohima district on all days with effect from May 5 from 7 pm to 6 am and would remain in force until further order.

The order stated that during the curfew hours, medical, emergency and essential services, including pharmacies, movement of goods vehicles through goods carriers/trucks would be permitted.

“Any person violating the order will be penalised as per the provision of the Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 beside legal action under Section 188 of the IPC,” the order read.

In a separate notification, the deputy commissioner of Kohima, having learnt that some hostels are still operating despite the order, has warned the hostels to comply with immediate effect.
