DIMAPUR — The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima, in collaboration with the Chizami Students’ Union (CSU), organised ICT (information and communication technology) training programmes from October 26 to 28, at Chizami, Phek.
According to a press release, the resource persons from NIELIT were Atoshe Lohe, senior forensic analyst; W Orendro Kumar Singh, senior technical officer; Lavito Achumi, faculty member; and Kelhouzhakuo Yhome, an intern.
On October 26, a total of 175 students from classes 7 to 12 from three schools—Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Eastern Mission High School, and Goyiepra Memorial Government High School—attended a student awareness programme on cyber security and emerging technologies.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Also, a two-day training for educators was held at Goyiepra Memorial Government High School, with 55 teachers from five schools—Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Eastern Mission High School, Goyiepra Memorial Government High School, Government Primary School, Chizami village and town, and Government Middle School.
The objective of the training was to equip and empower the teachers with fundamental digital skills to develop their effectiveness in the classroom and expand diverse opportunities for the students.
Furthermore, various awareness workshops on topics such as cyber security, emerging technologies, digital marketing, and digital payments were held at Enhulumi, Sumi village, and Chizami village.
The training at Chizami was held as part of the North East Capacity Building (NECB) 2.0 initiative, which is funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
