NIDA clarifies reports

Dimapur, July 16 (EMN): With reference to the news report regarding the absence of medical officer in Shamator CHC, the Nagaland In-service Doctors’ Association (NIDA) informed that the department is in the process of posting a medical officer to the CHC on priority.
On the request of the concerned member, Dr. Sentitemsu Ao, the NIDA had examined the matter with the department and confirmed that the doctor was transferred to Shamator CHC from Pangsha PHC vide order No.

HFW (A)T&P-8/8/2-16/404 dated Kohima the 21st December 2018. However, since his relieving medical officer was on study leave and also on the request of the public of Pangsha, Dr. Sentitemsu was retained in Pangsha PHC by the department, NIDA general secretary Dr. John Kemp and the secretary Dr. Ahu Sekhose stated in a joint release.

The release also stated that the department is in the process of posting a medical officer to Shamator CHC on priority. The association further requested to all concerned not to go to press relating to such issues in future without ascertaining the facts.
