Niathu Sports Festival from November 24 to 26

The 3rd edition of Niathu Sports Festival will be held from November 24 to 26 under the theme “Unity through Sports” at Niathu Resort, Chumukedima, Dimapur. The sports festival will include competitive events in badminton, billiards & snooker, cricket, table tennis, tennis, volleyball and angling.
The events will be held at the Niathu Resort, Noune Resort, Nagaland Cricket Stadium and Tennis Complex Nagarjan.
The sports festival is being organised under technical assistance from the Nagaland Badminton Association, Nagaland Cricket Association, Nagaland Volleyball Association, Nagaland Tennis Association, Nagaland Table Tennis Association and Nagaland Amateur Billiards & Snooker Association in collaboration with department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland.
This event is organised annually by the Niathu Privilege Club as part of the resort’s and club’s initiatives under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.
The festival aims to promote sports and games and create a platform for the talented youngsters of the region to showcase their talents and also get rewarded for achieving excellence in the arena of sports and games.
The total prize money for the event is Rs 6 lakh. The event is open to all participants from Nagaland and also for those sportspersons and teams from other parts of the north eastern region. All teams representing institutions, private and government agencies, sports clubs, youth organisations, police and paramilitary forces, etc are invited to come forward and participate in the festival.
