Dimapur, Oct. 24 (EMN): A one-day re-orientation programme for health committees on Community Action for Health and Nutrition (CAHN) was held on October 23 at Niuland town council hall. The programme was organised by Nagaland Health Project (NHP) and coordinated by DPMU NHP Dimapur.
An update from Dimapur DPMU facilitator, Abino Khate, stated village health committee members from Viyito, Kuhoxu, Henito, Hovukhu, Zuheshe, Hakhizhe, K Hetoi, Yeveto, Hevikhe, Kiyeze - A, Ghoshito and HCMC members of Niuland PHC attended the programme.
During the training, committee members were re-oriented on project design and objectives, roles and responsibilities of health committees, target indicators for VHCs and HCMC, importance of documentation, financial management and action plan development.
It added that an analysis of health committees performances in the last one year was presented and also held discussion on the achievement and failures. Plans for health system development for health facilities were also conveyed to the members.
Dr. T Pangjung Sangtam, chief medical officer (CMO), Dimapur, has appreciated the health committees that are performing well and encouraged the others to improve on their performances. He urged the health committees to work as a team, maintain transparency and improve their performances to avail all benefits being provided through the project.
Resource Persons were Menguzenuo Sachü, consultant, and Mughakali, NHP finance assistant. Other members present in the programme were Dr. Antoly Suu, deputy CMO Dimapur; Dr. Imti, district programme officer (DVBDCP); Esther, DPM, NHM; Vethi Lohe, DPM (QA); and DPMU, NHP Dimapur.
