Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): The National Health Mission Employees Association Nagaland (NEAN) will be participating in the one-day nation-wide cease work (or strike) called by the All India National Health Mission Karmchari Sangh (All India National Health Mission Employees Association) on Oct. 25 from 6 am till 6 pm.

The NEAN president, Dr. Shasinlo Magh and general secretary, Kewetso Kenye, through a press release, said that the association, being a constituent of the All India NHM Employees Association, will be participating in the strike as a show of solidarity. The association therefore directed all the NHM employees of Nagaland to participate in the strike. It further appealed the public to bear with the inconveniences that will be caused during the strike.

Giving a brief highlight about the strike, the NEAN officials said that the All India National Health Mission Karmchari Sangh has been pressing for some of its long pending demands to the Government of India. The Sangh had also submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister Office but no positive response has been received so far.

The demands of the association are: equal work equal pay; basic service benefit for NHM employees; framing and implementation of HR policy as per GoI guidelines; and regularisation of service, the NEAN officials said.
