Dimapur, July 19 (EMN): The National Health Mission Employees’ Association Nagaland (NEAN) has earnestly urged the concerned authority not to make the National Health Mission (NHM) programme a political agenda/platform since it is the heart of the Health and Family Welfare department being implemented on a mission mode.

The association stated that each activity and programme under NHM is target based and has a timeline which invites disincentives from the Government of India if not implemented and completed on time.

The association vice president, Dr. Avika P Jimo, and the general secretary, Kewetso Kenye, pointed out that frequent and untimely transfer and deployment hamper the programme intricately. It attributed delay of all round implementation to such situation. One example was the delay in release of funds including the basic employee’s salary from April to June 2019.

In the light of the above stated circumstances, the association appealed to the authority to take note of such complications and hardships being brought into the programme due to such hasty political decision. The association also appealed to the concerned authority to resolve the issue at the earliest for the smooth functioning of the programme.
