DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Government Registered Class-1 Contractors’ Union (NGRC-1CU) has conveyed support to the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) for taking up a genuine and challenging cause of the public on the issue of the multiple taxations.
The union stated that Nagaland has been experiencing various illegal taxes imposed on the public by the national workers.
“It has also become a daily affair to commit extortion from the public, kidnap and/or abduct businessman while threatening people for the sake of money, whereby harassment of the public in different forms has become a normal activity,” the union alleged.
It stated that the DCCI has made a right call to check the illegal multiple taxations by the national workers as the business community alone is not suffering from those taxes but the public are the ultimate victims, who have to bear all those taxes while purchasing goods and commodities.
NGRC-1CU further pledged its support to DCCI and show extended solidarity in the fight against illegal multiple taxations.
